THANKS TO THE BAILEY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
John and Marlene and all the members of the LNBC would like to thank the following volunteers for helping conduct the bridge classes at Bailey Middle School: Dave Smith, Mark and Kathy Haisfield, Maryanne Freiburger, Judy Fortner, Marcia Wentz, Steve Basco, Beth Quinn, Marianne Alfaro and Jeanne Miller. The classes couldn't have been conducted without their support! Hopefully the 34 children taking the class will retain their enthusiasm for learning the game of bridge.
YOUTH SUMMER BRIDGE CAMP
The Youth Summer Bridge Camp will be held for two consecutive weeks (June 18-22 and June 24-29) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m in Room 202 at Town Hall and is open to children from 8 to 15 years of age. PARC is charging $40 for residents of Cornelius and $50 for non-residents for the two week camp.To hold the camp we must have at least 8 students with a maximum of 24, so please register ASAP by contacting Town Hall at 704-892-6031. For more info you may contact John or Marlene at 704-992-1260, or email: crzy4brdg@yahoo.com. Adults are welcome to come and play bridge with the children or may volunteer to help with the lessons. Last year (2011) was the inaugural year for LNBC to conduct the Youth Camp. The kids had a lot of fun and two of them (Beau and Izzie) actually played a couple of times with their grandparents in the Tuesday game.
Two over one class
If there is enough interest, E.B. will hold a 2/1 class beginning Tuesday, September 11, at 1:30 p.m. If you are interested in taking the class, please contact him at 704-947-1896.
Intermediate bridge class
Intermediate bridge lessons are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 10, at 1:15 p.m.
This will be a 10-week instructional and playing course, which will cover six, or seven of the most commonly used conventions.
